The A stuff is everywhere. Early on for me it was really triggery but now it is mostly annoying.
I'll admit that early on I would just start crying at a trigger in a movie. There was a stupid movie we were watching and this guy came running out of a house he wasn't supposed to be in. It looked bad, but was actually innocent. I remember I started sobbing because I wished that when I had caught my wife leaving OMs house I wanted it to be innocent like in the movie -- not what it actually was in real life.
Now they are more annoying than painful. It sucks to be wanting to watch a show (something FWW and I did a lot before all the A mess) and getting reminded about the A.
Stuff we've watched since being in R that had A references:
Silver Linings Playbook. Like 10 minutes into that movie the poor guy is cheated on.
American Hustle. Cheating going on.
Expendables 2. Climbing up a hill Sly Stalone questions why Jason Statham is still with the girl that cheated on him.
Walking Dead. Before the first episode was over I knew where it was going with the love triangle thing.
I guess what I'm saying is that for me I still definitely notice it, but it doesn't hurt like it used to. Some things do still hurt, and badly, but references in movies don't really hurt me anymore. I'm just over 2 years out.
