My DD13 asked me - Mom, did you have TV when you were a kid?

You're quite lucky, wannabenormal. When they were 5 and 6, my kids wanted to know if there had been TV while I was alive.

Do you remember having an Atari and playing pac-man on it at home..I still have one that my son had...

I also still have a nine-inch color tv that has a turn dial on it and it still works..I have a VCR that has metal gears in it...And the remote is connected with a cord to the back to control it..

I remember when we didn't have gears on our bicycles and didn't have to wear helmets and knee pads to ride it either...

I remember when there wasn't seatbelts in cars..And you could get to the oil filter and be able to change your own oil...

Oh my goodness, a Viewmaster! Haven't seen one of those in a while!

I had a Kodak Brownie (with big flash attachment). Thought I was the cat's meow!

Edited to add: The site says it was discontinued in 1961 so that must have been the year I got it. I was 13. OMG!

When you watch a group of teens trying to use a rotary phone as a "push button" phone.

FYI, they actually still make ViewMasters! I sent my 2yr old nephew a ViewMaster and some Superman slides (via Amazon) for his birthday a few weeks ago.
