My friend Lisa subscribes to her blog list and said there was something about a serious illness and her having to move back home to her parents to recuperate, and that she's behind schedule - which is why the Aug 2010 release date.

We'll probably be getting teasers in the coming months. I just keep hoping the release date's been moved up. Because I'm all impatient and shit.

Well, I'm starting on the Highlander ones now, so I'll keep a lookout. Is he really supposed to be in these?

There's a theory going around that he is somehow related to the Keltars.

The Highlander series is straight up paranormal romance, and really nothing like the Fever series which is urban fantasy. But her druids and fae occupy both series, and we've seen at least one MacKeltar from the Highlander series in the Fever books and are supposed to see more upcoming.

But I'm not buying the theory that AB = JB. It just doesn't fit.

Well, I'm like 3/4 the way done with the first Highlander book, and he sure doesn't seem to fit at all. I mean, unless he was mindwiped to the point of losing all personality. Also, this book sucks, I hope they improve.

Keep in mind that was her very first writing and it was ten years ago.

I don't think you are going to start enjoying until you hit the last three or so of the Highlander ones.

It's good to read all of them though as they are all connected and it can get confusing.

Oh, I will. I'm a Compleatist. I have to read/watch all books/episodes in any series of anything I watch. No matter how terrible it is.

I have the same disorder. It's what led me to watching such things as Freddie vs Jason and Alien vs Predator.

I did manage to drop LKH. I just couldn't stomach what's become of Anita any further, even if it meant not *gasp* finishing a series.

The last book in the series I consciously remember reading was Narcissus in Chains, and going ok, enough, I can't take this any more, so a friend with a more seaworthy stomach than I was put on "Asher and JC Threesome" watch and alerted me when that occurred, so I picked that up.

I honestly do not think I could survive any more 20 page scenes in which people ask Anita's permission to have sex with one another and she makes up arcane rules and regulations and then insists on fucking participating. Maybe people would like to have sex *without you* inserting yourself into the damn middle of everything and why should two guys who partied together for like 500 years ASK YOU if they can hook up? What? Go away Anita. I have read two fanfics in my life, and one of those was a fic in which Edward killed Anita. It was *delicious*. I hope Edward hasn't been destroyed by the ardeur too. I can't bring myself to even check to see.

I don't remember which one I finally dropped the series on, but my friend gave me Blood Noir, and I went ahead and read it even though I hadn't read several of the one's before.

Yeah. Same thing. Didn't even lose continuity by missing several books, because there's no actual story or character development going on any more. Just lots of multiple partner screwfests for Anita from beginning to end, with all her crazy rules and regulations about who gets what when and with whom.

Cemented the wisdom of my decision to quit reading them, though.
