I like true crime but mostly 'current' true crime. I think I've read every book there was on the OJ trial & the Scott Petersen trial..
thanks for the recomendations. gonna have to check some of them out
"Sorry" works when a mistake is made, but not when trust is broken. So in life, make mistakes, but never break trust. Because forgiving is easy, but forgetting & trusting again is sometimes impossible

Joe McGinnis is very good.
He wrote Fatal Vision about the murder of Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald's family in the 1970s.
He also wrote Blind Faith about Rob Marshall's murder of his wife and the subsequent trial during which his teenage sons testified against him.
She packed up her potential and all she had learned and headed out to change a few things.

That's right, I had forgotten about the movie.
Isn't the son, Robbie Marshall, a successful director or producer now, too?

I don't know but his (the criminal) real life son, Robbie Marshall, married child actress Tracy Gold (from Growing Pains) because Tracy's on screen mom Joanna Kerns (I think) played Marie Marshall in the tv movie.
As far as I know they-Tracy and Robbie-are still married to this day.
eta: I think there are two Rob Marshalls in Hollywood. One IS a successful director, the other is only known because of his infamous father. I'll have to check out IMDB now...

The Marshall murder happened just about 30 miles from where my ex's family had a beach house. When I was down in the area a few years ago, I went to the rest stop where she was killed. There is no way he didn't set it up--that is a very deserted place and no one in their right mind would pull off there in the dead of night.

Fatal Vision is a great book - about a doctor, Jeff McDonald, killed his family - said hippies did it. Read it along time ago but its one of those books you can read again.

Along the lines of Patricia Cornwell, not true crime but very compelling story lines, try Lisa Gardner. Her main characters are on the law enforcement side. I have a hard time putting her books down. Her new book comes out this month and I am very seriously comtemplating buying it in hard cover.
I LOVED the earlier style of Patricia Cornwell. Then she changed her style of writing and I just hated it. I haven't read any of her books after Blow Fly.
