On another thread I posted about the Scottish Thistle because of this meaning:
"Given the legend surrounding the Scottish thistle, the plant clearly connotes bravery, courage and loyalty in the face of treachery. The tough, painful spikes of the plant itself suggest endurance and fortitude. "
I don't know how to post a picture, but there are a lot of thistle tats online

I saw that purple flower on braveheart yesterday. Thought of SI.
I like the triskele. Maybe that could be added in the middle of the phoenix?
When I think of recovery and healing, I think of time, patience and strength. We are always talking about time at SI. Time to process. Time to change. Time to accept. Time to heal. But I don't know of any symbols that represent those. Personally, a little turtle is my symbol of time, patience and strength.
Failure is success if we learn from it.
