Random tip #432,088:

I read to sleep with your car keys on your night stand. If you hear or see someone, you are to press your alarm button on your FOB. Said it is often enough to startle a 'peeper'.

That's a great tip, EvenKeel.

(When I can't find my keys tomorrow morning, will you remind me that they're on my nightstand? )

Do you have floodlights or anything? I totally understand how you feel. One big step in my NB was big dogs. I hope you can find the right answers to make your home your safe place!!

There are floodlights on the house, garage, and each outbuilding (I'm renting a farm house), and a mercury vapor security light on a power pole over the driveway.

Thanks to Ama, Alarm/Security Master, I have identified a wireless security system I can get for a reasonable price that will give me some peace of mind (and travel with me to any other place I may rent in the future). Just need to wait for payday.

My DS gave me an early Mother's Day present of pepper spray that attaches to my key ring. I think it's more for his peace of mind than mine, bless his heart.
