itainteasy, you can send me a picture if you'd like a translation. Like I said, I wouldn't consider a tattoo in a language I don't speak (and read and write).

Are there any tattoo rules for red heads with pale skin and freckles?
I like the white look too but from reading this thread I believe it wouldn't be a good idea for my skin.

Forgive my tattoo ignorance, but can't white tattoos be filled in with darker ink if they don't take, fade, or look strange? Sure it's more pain and money, but for a small area it would seem worth a shot unless there is some other downside I am missing.

Yep. Glow in the dark is black light ink.
There are no "rules" for redheads. Colors will show up brighter. But if you tend to scar very easily then you could scar with a tattoo...especially if the person has a heavy hand. Or if they are inexperienced and just eat up the skin by going over and over. A scarred tattoo is raised and puffy.
And yes you can just go over the white with another color but it will be like mixing them.

I have promised myself a tattoo before I die lol. I had planned on going with wh to get it done but he decided to go on his own...they wouldn't do it while I was pregnant and he didn't want to wait.
I do scar easily... The pictures of white tattoos look raised. Is that just because they were just done or are they supposed to be raised?

They are raised because you have to go over and over the color. Most tattoos are raised at some parts. But as I said above, if the tattoo artist had a heavy hand, they will scar. Tattoos are a wound...hence scarring.

I like the white tattoo look too. For me it would be a dandelion...I've seen some pretty ones that turn into birds flying. And it's the flower of the military brat. We're all over the world and survive in any environment.

Well, I'm not a redhead but I have pale skin and freckles. I have a stylized phoenix on my shoulder. Black outline with graduated colors. I was thrilled with the symbolism, the front is the colors of flames, the tail like water...
...anyhow, a friend made the comment that she loved how it looked like it was flying through a cloud of freckles. :face palm:
So consider how it would look wherever your freckles are.
