I joined a few meetup group, singles dance, divorce support group, etc. so you meet all the people in the similar situation, normally it is in a pub where they pick the date when they have $3.99 steak sandwich night, so everyone can afford, or you can simply join the conversation without buying anything.
I went to singles dance, New Year Eve party, had a great time!
