Sweet and teary, knowing Valerie is dealing with terminal cancer and yet dancing. All the stars and dancers were in tears.

I love DWTS! This should be an interesting season as there are a lot of good dancers.

I've watched this for years.

The changes are interesting - no live band, the dancers bull pen on the floor. Interesting.

The judging tonight seems a bit amiss. JMO

Curious by this - how? From past shows, they were pretty spot on and actually this year the talent level seems to be much higher than in year's past, hence IMO, the higher scores.

Now that it's only on one night a week and the only night I'm usually free, I plan to watch.

We have been fans for a few years now. We can't believe that we like it, but we got hooked.

this year the talent level seems to be much higher than in year's past

I'll have to disagree here. Last season's cast was phenomenal. The last 3 finalists all deserved the mirror ball trophy! They were amazing.

I was hoping Bill Nye would do good, but, yes he seemed very awkward. I was hoping Snookole would be horrible 'cause I just don't care for her, but, I have to admit she was very good. Same with Elizabeth Berkley.

I was surprised by Jack Osbourne. Very good. I think I will be rooting for him. I was amazed by Amber Riley. She was very good. Loved her smile and attitude. I will be rooting for her, too.

Who do you all think will be going home next week? I would say Bill Nye, but I think he has a huge fan base.

it's only on one night a week and the only night

It is only going to be on one night a week? That will be great. I really didn't like having to devote 2 nights to DWTS.

I really like that the dancers don't have to run up the stairs and talk to Brooke this year. I couldn't stand the questions Brooke would ask. It just always felt awkward to me.

Snooki - love her or hate her, she wasn't bad. Brant will get the Mc Dreamy pre-teen vote, so he'll be there a while. Jack probably won't be there as a finalist but he shows promise as does Christina.

My top three are Corbin, Amber and Elizabeth - all three were very good.

Curious by this - how?

I think that contemporary dancing is much more open in technique that it is more styling. So to pit that against some doing Cha-cha-cha and I think Jack did a foxtrot is advantageous to those doing contemporary.

Well I personally was surprise that Amber scored so high. While she may have moved well and was appealing. I honestly didn't see much cha-cha-cha for her in that piece. I could clearly see Bill Nye attempting more cha-cha-cha even though it was awkward and Keyshawn's footwork seemed to be more merengue timing although his partner was doing cha-cha-cha. Amber was smooth but I didn't think it was worthy of all 9's.

I also think the Bill Nye will be going home too. Which is a shame my kids actually tuned in to watch him. I do have to say that he seemed very comfortable in his swing dancing seen during the intro video clips to his piece.

I didn't see it all but from what I saw I was impressed by Corbin the most. I think he will do quite well

They added contemporary a season or two ago, my guess - to offer something different and be a better match to the SYTYCD crowd of watchers.

ETA: - All the contestants will eventually do all the dances. They're not competing against each other against the dances, just against how well each does for their particular dance.

It was Karina's first ever contemporary dance, so you can see how much a fish out of water she seemed.

I think they've been practicing for only a couple of weeks. You'll see real improvement on holds, moves, etc., as people move on.

I think Nye will be around a couple of weeks yet, because he's quite popular. Once the others shake their nerves, I think you'll see improvement.

And yes, Leah - I thought she did a great job too!

Missed her first go around...

Just watched and loved it.

Cried the whole time Valerie Harper was on. I grew up watching her on TV and she was so gracious and full of joy on DWTS.

I agree that Keyshawn or Bill Nye will go home.

DS, you are forever in my heart. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit with me. I will always try to live by the example you have set. I love you and miss you every day and am sorry you had to go so soon, it just doesn't seem fair.
