I'm sorry Phoenix about what happened with your Dad. I should have mentioned that although my father was an alcoholic, he did eventually join AA and went to years of therapy, so there was the difference. I guess although he was still an idiot and a lot of damage was done in my childhood, he was trying to make up for it when I was an adult. Unfortunately, the damage was done.
From what you are saying in your daughter's case, her father is an asshole and her decision at this time to cut him off is probably for the best.
So many of these idiots don't realize the damage they do an continue to do!
