We are German Shepherd people. We were told that if you don't give a German Shepherd a "job" he will assign himself one. My GSD has decided that his job is to be around me all the time. I kind of like it personally.

Are you the one that generally corrects him? Are you somewhat of an Alpha personality? Have you been upset/emotional much lately?

Depending on the dog's mentality (he sounds maybe a little insecure, or at least non-alpha) he may be trying to insure he is pleasing you.

Dogs love stability within the pack. They will seek to monitor the alpha to make sure he/she is happy. Or, if someone is upset, they will become nervous until that goes away.

Or maybe you smell like bacon.

Also changes in TSH can modify your metabolism and change how much you sweat and thus how you smell. Maybe he senses that.

I didn't know that, this could possibly be it.

I am the one that corrects him most of the time. I am a very Alpha personality too.

the only emotional/upset thing has been because of the change up in meds and stuff. I can tell that this version is just not working. Maybe he can tell that this dose is not right?

Or maybe you smell like bacon.

I will probably be barred from SI for saying this....but I hate bacon. I really do, ick.

His behavior hasn't changed at all, maybe this is his new normal?

The other thought that I had was that our female is dealing with her heart issue and maybe he is trying to follow a new alpha? I dont know.

It's nice sometimes, but last night he put his cold nose on my thigh while i was asleep and about knocked his head off. Poor guy.

Interestingly enough, I was actually going to ask a similar question.lol

I have a shitzhu. She is mine, no doubt.

The interesting part is she is 12 years old, sleeps lots. Imean a lot.

Well lately, she will start to follow me, if I move. even if I am within eyesight. Todayshe is doing this again. She was fine yesterday.

What I am chalking it up to is my moods. She can predict my down days before I do. At least I think this is the pattern.

Maybe its with you?

I know our animals are hypersensitive to us.
