I can't recall ever being asked....
I did beg the girls to go on the pill before college - one was sexually active (I didn't know about it) and the other was not. They declined.
After freshman year they came to me and asked for help to get some.
Then, there was the time when I went to my sister's house 2k miles away and I gotta call from 21 year old daughter about a broken condom and how to get Plan B. They did it in our house! And hubby was fast asleep.
What was the question again? Oh right....

Well I went with an abbreviated version that was "classroom approved". Like I said I don't want to responsible for other kids. So I talked with dd teacher and went with when mommy's and daddy's get married, sometimes God blesses the mommy with tiny little egg that grows in mommy's tummy. Well it worked...dd was just "well okay then", "can I play on your phone?".....
I am okay with this for the moment. While I'm more for a physiological proper explanation, 5yrs old is just waaay to young for those kinds of details IMHO.
Plus this takes the boys parts out of the equation at the moment which is good because ds is in serious potty training mode so his parts are more out and about lately. As in running out of the potty naked screaming I went pee pee. I dont need dd telling ds that's not all it does. We have enough to deal with him right now.
