I think some men do it, and some don't. My ex-husband didn't, and was totally confused by men who did. And he was in a prime situation: a literature professor talking alone one-to-one to young, sometimes physically beautiful women about poetry, love, sex - for him sex was an expression of deep love, and he just didn't physicaly notice women unless he was first attracted to their character. I also knew another man - a stage wrestler, who had many women after him, but he just never noticed the women making passes at him. Totally clueless, only eyes for his wife. His wife liked that. And I am remembering an old boyfriend I had, a folk/rock musician, lots of women eyeing him, but he only had eyes for me. He loved me, and I do not think it even occurred to him to stray, even with his eyes. But my current boyfriend, my WS, is trying hard to stop the roving eyes, he I suspect has sexual addiction problems. He says all men do it, but I know for a fact they do not. Hope that helps, and good you are trying to stop hurtful behaviours.
