Plan the garage sale at the first weekend of the month. People typically have more $ the first of the month, then the last.

Lots of signs with arrows. I advertise my garage sales on craigslist.

Used 2 ladders with pvc pipe to hold up clothes. Try to use tables instead of laying items on the ground.

I didn't start this thread to make people feel bad.

that's just the thing...I don't feel bad at all, lol, I'm perfectly happy with the way I do it.

When we did our garage sale a couple of summers ago, we had a layout that worked well for us.

We had several tables lined up.

Each table had a price point and everything on that table started at that price. For example, we had a $15 Table, $10 Table, $5 Table, and a $1 Table.

Anything that didnt meet those price points were placed off to the side an labeled with a price.

Clothing was hung and priced at $3-4/each (we just wanted them gone).

Saturday everything was full price.

Sunday everything was half off in the morning, then cut-throat closer to the end.

The few things we didnt sell, we immediately put in hubby's truck and took to Goodwill. I did NOT want to haul stuff back into the house.

I edit often for clarity/typos.
