I've read the books and listened to the audio of all the books except this newest. Davina Porter is brilliant! I'm about 72% done with this new one and I love it!!!

Whew. Finally finished.

I loved it, of course. Took awhile to get used to the changing POVs but towards the end, it was easy enough to ascertain who was who based on DG's writing styles for the individual characters without having to rely on them actually being identified in the story.

One thing though, I grew very tired of DG's frequent use of the word, "attend."

For instance, "he was telling me something but I wasn't attending."

"Only when the thoughts stopped swirling was I able to attend to what he was saying."

These are paraphrases of some passages that stuck with me. She used the word "attend," in this way what had to be a million times in this book. Anyone else notice this? It grated on my nerves.

I won't post spoilers but I eagerly anticipate being able to discuss, so if anyone is finished and would like to PM me...

I'm about halfway to 2/3 finished (darned schedule!!!), but I noticed she uses "meditatively" a lot.

Gaby,

Pay attention to attend. It'll drive you bonkers.

Hope you finish soon. Need to discuss.

Does anyone else start thinking in a Scottish accent when they read these books?

Once, my daughter asked a question and I responded with "I dinna ken." It just came out!

I've said that as well as "Dinna fash yerself" to family members.

I wanted to go to a signing! Even looked at her tour, but none of the scheduled cities are close to me!

I hope you have a blast! Can't wait to hear what you think about MOBY.

I know she offers autographed copies for purchase on her website. Might have to go that route, although, I think I'd have to choose Outlander. It's still the favorite of the series for me.

I wanted to rip the head off Alexandra's "inner goddess" in the only few pages I managed to read of "Fifty Shades". Now I'll be watching for the "attends".

Hubby ordered me a signed copy from The Poison Pen last fall as a surprise. It is sitting in the box next to my nightstand as I just cannot read it yet. The thought of waiting another four years makes me want to wait and savor it. Lol

I did the reread, but stopped 3/4 of the way through Echo. I am so busy with our new baby that reading has been tough. On an added note I have been an Outlander fan for 20 years. Our newest addition was given the middle name of Alexander in honor of JAMMF. We also have a Malcolm and hubby and I share they same names as Jamie's parents. For some reason I never noticed the shared names until we were considering names for the baby.
