Then I'll mount him up and frame him

I've considered the same for my WH too.

Death confirmed last night when we moved him. I guess the stress of moving before molting did it. Can't say I'm very happy at all. Then again we don't know his exact age and males do live much shorter lives than females.

I'm sure one day we will find another. I'll look for a girl. For now I'll wait until I work up the nerve to handle him and make or buy a shadow box to mount him.

At least our Indian Ornamental is going strong. She's a beauty!

Edited to add we took a closer look at his fangs and holy crap they are huge! I'll post a photo of that when I get a good one.

And yes I've thought about mounting my WH...lol usually with lots of duct tape

Even though your pics of the tarantula made me shudder, I can understand your being sad that he died. When my stepson lived with us for a while, he had 2 pythons that he didn't feed for a while. When he finally did, they both choked to death on their rabbit dinners. It was horrible to watch and I felt extremely sorry for them even though I'm not fond of snakes in the house.

Be careful what you wish for the most - you may get it.

I'm sorry he died.

There was one in my driveway of the last house I lived in. It was during the fall. Huge guy. Cool looking.

But, like your snake story, shudder shudder shudder.

I had a nearly extinct cloud rat only found in the island of Luzon...not exactly a "gift" though.

I think you're a doll, DragnHeart, but I don't think I'll be visiting your home. Evah!

Let's just meet up at my house. Or anywhere public. Sans spider, snakes, and creepy things!

I wouldn't want anyone here with the state of things right now. Ugh! I'd sit in a tanker full of those spiders if it meant having water again...and well the money to get the well, pump, wiring, box all fixed!
