Since work has me feeling stabby lately, I figured it was time to resurrect this thread. I am probably going to make myself write down 100 good things tonight on my blog to get me out of this work stress ick.

1. One of my closest friends, who was just an acquaintance before D-Day, asked me to do a 50K with her out of state next year. Of course I said yes. That's three out of state running girlfriend weekends for 2014. Yay!

2. XWH and I used to brew beer as one of our hobbies. It's something I gave up after D-Day as it's more fun to do with someone AND he took all of the equipment. I'll pick it up again (my dad is interested in learning how to do it with me.) About three years ago, we'd brewed a beer of my own concoction that just wasn't getting carbonated. I'd try one every few months, but end up dumping it down the drain. Apparently it just needed to bottle condition a bit, as I opened one up to have with dinner, and it was amazingly fabulous!

3. The season starts this week for the NCAA basketball team for which me dad and I hold season tickets. Super excited to get to spend a few evenings every month with him throughout the winter.

4. I refuse to work this weekend.

1) Everyday is one step closer to a stronger and happier me.

2) I love living alone and on my own terms.

3) I get to meet SO's young Adult kids this weekend and everyday brings me closer to my kids being home for the Holidays.

1. My parents were up today. We had a great time as they helped me to winterize my house and then played cards for several hours.

2. Ran this morning with a friend (ran into 3 other friends along our route) and am running tomorrow morning with another friend. Then, we're going to a winery after and watching the football game as her boyfriend makes us vegetarian chili!

3. I have pear trees in my backyard, and today I saw a squirrel on my deck who ate half of a pear!!! That is almost as big as the squirrel -- his appetite was just amazing. Perhaps he is bulking up for winter. So much fun!

phmh - I used to brew beer too but also gave it up after D-day...this morning I happened across my brewing pot and thought maybe I could try it again...I was just starting to create my own recipes when D-day hit and I completely lost interest...maybe I should make beer brewing my reclamation project for next year.

Here are my three things...

1. Spent the afternoon at a friend's new house. Really enjoying creating my new social circle!

2. I rearranged and cleaned my room so that it doesn't look like a junk room with mattress thrown in it anymore. It still has a long way to go before it looks like a real grown up room...but just that small step has really helped to alleviate some of my stress.

3. Volunteered at a 5K for Girls on the Run. Had so much fun cheering all the elementary and middle school girls on. Their faces were so delighted when they heard someone cheering for them.

I took the day off of work (due to use-it-or-lose-it vacation policy and I don't want to lose it!) and it was great!

1. Went to my favorite second hand store and updated my fall/winter wardrobe for a fraction of the price (many items still had original price tags!)

2. Went to my favorite orchard and bought a ton (not literally) of honeycrisp apples for eating and jonagolds for making cobbler.

3. Went to my favorite local winery and renewed my membership in their case club (I am bringing wine to Thanksgiving so it's not all for me )

Love honeycrisp apples!! I haven't seen any out here yet this year but I keep looking.

1. Finished a big job at work...on time which is more rare than I like to admit.

2. Did a little bit of Christmas shopping this afternoon and wrapped some advent gifts for my girls.

3. Taking tomorrow off to catch up on laundry and housework and actually looking forward to some domestic activity.

My list today:

1) I have almost all my Christmas shopping done.

2) Plans for my art show are coming along swimmingly. Latest piece to fall into place today was the going live of my web site.

3.) Tonight I am attending one of Toronto's events that puts the "fun' in fundraisers. It's for Company Theatre, a group that was started by actor friends Phil Riccio and Allan Hawco, the star of Republic of Doyle. Among the hilarious people entertaining us will be Colin Mochrie, Jayne Eastwood, Jonny Harris (Murdoch Mysteries, Barry Canning and Kim Stockwood. Newfoundlanders like me will be heavily represented in the talent and the audience because Allan Hawco is a Newfoundlander. Oh, we'll rant and we'll roar tonight!

*Started planning how I am going to decorate my new home for the holidays. I am going to be able to make it look as beautiful as my former very different home!

*Finally taking the time to review my finances and put things in working order. I was practicing "can't pay the bills if you can't find them". This budgeting technique does not work for very long.

*I am learning not to be reactionary when my teen pushes my buttons. Deep breath then respond! It appears to be working...slowly.

Wontdefineme,

1. My son will be home from Kuwait mid December.

That is so fantastic!

Hope things get in order soon, the first step is the hardest but soooooo worth it!

My 3;

1) It's Friday Eve

2) Started running again and haven't hurt myself yet

3) 1 more week till Thanksgiving!

1. I've removed my profile from OLD and am already feeling relief. Pretty sure that's the last time I'm trying it, but...famous last words, so who knows what 6-9 months will bring.

2. I took today off of work and it was fabulous. Ran with a friend this morning (even though it was 12 degrees -- yikes!) and am meeting more friends tomorrow to run, before the family dinner.

3. Catching up and rewatching the entire series of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." Forgot how much this show makes ms laugh!

My work has been majorly stressing me out again since my boss is a huge bully and I'm her current target. Unfair! Anyway, I need to think about good things.

1. Went to a basketball game tonight with my dad, best friend, and her husband. Had a great time, team won, and it was a really fun game!

2. I'm currently boiling potatoes in the process of making a giant bowl of mashed potatoes with sour cream and Fox Point Seasoning from Penzey's. It will be delicious and I can't wait!

3. Meeting a friend to run tomorrow morning. I set a ridiculous goal of number of miles to run in 2013, and it looks like I may meet that goal due to the friends who get me out even when it's freezing. I am lucky to have so many great people in my life!

1.I got to walk around my favorite campus yesterday and heard the Straw Hat Band playing at a pep rally throughout most of the walk.

2.I got to spend yesterday afternoon and evening with my football buddy talking about his life as a Professor and research microbiologist, his work with the Bay Area Raptor Society, our mutual love of College Football, the season so far for our Men’s and Women’s basketball teams, the upcoming Rugby schedule, the fun of a Santa Pub Crawl and Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen.(With a visit to The House of Prime Rib thrown in for good measure.)

3.I got to wake up this morning and have been given the gift of another day.

Need to bump this one

1) My sister is getting her own place for the first time ever. So happy for her finally deciding to stand on her own two feet. And so happy for me to quit carpooling and have more space at home

2) I think, dare I say, I've been doing so much better financially lately. It's a great feeling.

3) To round it out, sorry for those in cold climates, but the weather is a fantastic 79 degrees here today.
