ESD, I suggest you make a quick visit to your primary care doctor. My son meets with a psychiatrist on occasion as he has anxiety and panic attacks, but sometimes a quick visit to his PCP helps. He gets temporary medication to help with the anxiety until he is able to get back into the psych office. It is very rare, but it has been helpful as his PCP knows his medical history.

My son's anxiety also causes him to have heart palpitations, etc.

I think you need to get into your PCP for a good checkup asap. I'd call them and tell them the situation, about your chest feeling tight, etc. They should bring you in pronto.

@ESD

For acute anxiety attacks, Xanax,. 5 - 1 milligram should help within 15 - 20 minutes.

For fast acting but a more "spread out" length of affect, usually better for sleeping, Klonopin, also .5 - 1 milligrams.

The difference is Xanax has a 2 - 4 hour affect time, Klonopin 4 - 6 hours. Xanax has a more noticeable affect, Klonopin a "gentler curve".

Another interesting and safe option that is not a controlled substance is Propranolol. It is a beta blocker that helps control heart palpitations and the other symptoms of panic attacks.

I am not a doctor. Do your own research. They worked for me.

Good luck to you.

Yikes. Sorry to hear you're still on the roller coaster. You ever try CBD oil??? My anxiety isn't anything close to yours I'm sure but it helps me with mine.
