Oh I'm OCD about my closets. My dresses have a section. Then my pants. Then my shirts. Then they get separated by dressy, club, work, everyday, cleaning. My pajamas are separated by warm or cool then by comfort levels. Underwear gets the same treatment.....hmmm thought I wasn't OCD.

I have two closets in my bedroom. One has dresses, skirts, and pants, organized by season, and then by color. The other closet is tops, blazers, and sweaters, all organized by season and then by color.
You can call me NIK

Oh, well...forget the closets...the closet are for hiding stuff at a moments notice...
I always say a prayer before I open the bi-fold doors..
"Oh God...please don't let anything fall down and kill me before I get these doors shut again!"

Closet - My cool weather tops are in one closet, separated thusly: 3/4 sleeve, long sleeve, 3/4 sleeve sweates, sweaters, jackets, coats. My other closet has jeans, Capri denim, black slacks/capris, gray slacks, brown/tan slacks/capris, camisoles, tank tops, short sleeves (separated into casual and work wear), skirts, dresses. I used to arrange each sub-section of tops into colors according to the rainbow, but gave that up when I had kids.

My closets are pretty darned organized too.
I have the current season in the closet in my bedroom and move the out of season gear to the spare bedroom closet.
My clothes are organized dresses in one section, skirts, pants, then tops (sorted by long sleeve, short sleeve, then sleeveless).
ETA:
My dressers are slightly less neat, but there is still organization. Top drawer is bra and panties, second drawer is socks, pantyhose, and scarves, third drawer is loungeware/nightgowns, bottom drawer houses "around the house" teeshirts and shorts.

Ya'll ain't right.
You go to the store for two things you need. You leave with twenty-four none of which are the original things you went after. You see about a dozen people you know while you are there and talk about everyone and everything. Its a social occassion. Which is why you don't mind having to go back.
But since it took so long, you don't have time to cook when you get home, so you call Papa Johns or Dominoes for pizza.
That's how you do it.
And the closet - well, clean clothes go there. Dirty ones don't. That's as organized as I get.

Mandala, your post just gave me hives.
Closet, I would invite you in to see my closet!
All categories have a subcategory by color. So all pants are together, grouped by color. Dresses have their own section, grouped by color and from (typically) left to right going from casual to dressy. Blouses/tops are grouped by color with long sleeves to the left progressing to sleeveless to the right.
I decide what color I want to wear and the temperature and then I have just a few choices.
I find being organized with daily tasks like dressing and food shopping gives me time for more wool gathering, belly button picking and cloud admiration.
I would like to think I am using the time for something more useful, but can't think of any place I am making a big difference (like Einstein who purportedly had multiples of the same outfit).
All that party organizing leaves me free to enjoy the get together with my guests. So to me it is a balance of sorts.
Me- BS
