I put some out as well although they are true adventures.

Do we have a list of the book club members so we know who are picking?

I'm fine with whatever we choose (sans self-helpy type books, Oprah, and Twilight).

I'm just waiting for the word on what the first book will be!

I think a deadline should be set for a decision to be made.

We decided on Adventure.

Perhaps if the choice was made that would force others so speak up if they have strong preference. Or, better yet, we might all be agreement and could start reading.

Okay.

Adventure it is...

The books to choose from so far are;

Ship of Gold in the Deep Blue Sea

The Cruelest Miles

Perfect Storm

THe Long Walk

Man is WOlf to Man

The Worst Journey in the World

West with the Night

Travels in West Africa

The Oregon Trail

A Lady's Life in the Rocky Mountains

What if we give the weekend for anyone else to recommend and then we choose on Monday?

Thoughts?

You are right, we need a deadline otherwise we will all just hem and haw.

edited to add; I hope I got all the books recommended in there. Some of them were fiction and I thought we were doing non fiction with this and then there were a lot of replies to look through. If I missed some please tell me. lol

Okay, I like A Lady's Life and West with the Night, just from reading the Amazon reviews. Man is Wolf to Man got great reviews, but is probably depressing.

But I'll read ANYTHING.

If the genre is adventure, would Life of Pi fit in?

Not with the Adventure types we are doing.

Non fiction this round.

I would like to join and I don't know any real life adventure books so I'll just see what all the choices are and pick them. I'm good with anything. I've not been very well read lately at all. I read a book in a day because I usually can't put it down and that is dangerous with 3 small children. Sooo, I haven't been reading too much. I've started reading Beverly Connor's Lindsay Chamberlain series and I read the last one in 3 hrs and I need more to read while I wait for them to come from the library!

You guys here on this forum know I will read just about anything. Except I will NOT read unhot nonsense (that was funny, ladyv...).

I am totally up for an Adventure and would like to nominate:

Into the Wild

since it is one of my favorite movies of all time, but I've never read the book. I don't know if it is non-fiction, but do know it is based on real life events.

I would also vote for Ship of Gold. That sounds cool.
