Hello, this is my first time posting, here is my story, from my profile, with some details added:

November of 2022, my now ex wife attempted to reach out to an old boyfriend of hers with the intention of starting an affair. She had run into him at a party (never told me) while I was away a few weeks before this and then I saw her texts with a friend of hers that were linked to her laptop on 11/9/2022. She told the friend that she was thinking of attempting to reach out to him and see where it goes. She said she could see him either never returning her text, or this turning into a full blown affair. The text chain then went on that she had in fact texted him to feel it out and that he never responded to her text, they wondered in the text exchange if this guy's wife checks his phone.

I moved out immediately, we made a 50/50 parenting plan and we were divorced before the start of 2024.

We were in a disconnected and lonely marriage and I consider her having done me a favor, albeit an extremely painful one at the time.

I'm now in a much better, happier, healthier relationship. I'm also a better person, better partner and better parent as a result of freeing myself from the weight of a painful marriage.

Today, 12/10 is the date I moved into my new place a month after I found this out. The first month I stayed with my parents and was still doing 50/50 parenting time, it was awful and hard. The day I moved into my new place was like starting a new life and I will forever be grateful on this day that I made that scary choice.

Glad to hear you are healing so well. And I think it’s true that a good space is a safe place and it can really help.

Thanks for providing your update- it’s great to get real stories of healed and thriving former BS!
