Our little cat disappeared...

And I believe our neighbor had something to do with her disappearance.

My neighbor is a total nutjob. But I never thought for a second he would hurt an animal. I had words with him that morning when I told him that his chickens (which he allows to roam the neighborhood) had destroyed my garden. I did not raise my voice or swear. I politely but firmly told him that he must keep his chickens from going onto my property.

That afternoon Gabby disappeared. It's been 11 days since she's been gone. We are heartbroken. She was the smartest, spunkiest kitty I'd ever seen. So much personality. We put posters all over town with a reward. Everyone is stopping and asking if we've found her... everyone except freakshow neighbor.

I cry all the time for Gabby. Poor little thing.

Sorry your cat disappeared. It's hard especially with the uncertainty about what actually happened to her. And the suspicions about your neighbor makes it that much worse.

Sorry you're going through this. Hopefully one day you can find her successor and she will bring you the joy you knew with Gabby.

Oh no....What a beautiful kitty Gabby is, she looks like one of mine, Smokey.

That would be horrid if nutjob neighbor did anything to Gabby.

I'm so very sorry...I would be going Crazy!

However, she might turn up after awhile.

He might just be keeping her in his house to *torment* you.

ugh, vile low cowardly bastard!

I will pray for her and for all of you.

I'm a cat person, too. How devastating for you! I so hope your kitty will find her way home. There are some really scary people out there. I'm sorry you live next door to one.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and Gabby.

I'd advise anyone in the neighborhood to lock up their pets from now on, if he is vengeful like that.

Nouveau,

I am so sorry. That's simply terrible. I hope she finds her way back.

What a menace! To have a neighbor like that!!!

Gabby still has not been found and we have heard nothing.

The more time goes on, but more reason I think it was the neighbor.

I hate him. It is so hard to live next door to this pukeface. If I find out that he has indeed harmed this cat, I'm going to put my house on the market.

My SO said the time has come to have a talk with pukeface this weekend and ask him point blank if he knows what happened to Gabby. It's time to confront him.

Gabby, I'm so sorry...

..i would be tempted to lodge an official complaint with animal protection and police..and i would have no quams about confronting nutjob and demanding to look around his property for any sign of foul play..

..it would be awful to live right next to a person you suspect has taken your pet or harmed it intentionally..

..ask other neighbours if they have heard any similar reports about him and neighbourhood animals. or any official complaints made against this man..

..we now have 3 and i know how you are feeling..

..prayers to you and your dear pet, Gabby..

Thank you, somanyyears. My SO has searched around his property late at night and when he is not home. He's found no sign of foul play. (Doesn't mean it didn't happen) We've also talked to others in the neighborhood and have turned up nothing.

Except one neighbor who had an argument with pukeface last year. And interestingly, this neighbor's cat disappeared about the same time. A neutered female. They looked everywhere and found no trace of her. But after about 3 weeks their cat returned... thin, scruffy, but home and safe. Makes me wonder now.

We're not done with Pukeface. Oh no... It's only begun.

LOL about the chickens. I've toyed with the idea of some roast chicken. But then discarded the idea to a fleeting moment of madness!

Thank you for your prayers for our sweet little girl.

Okay...now a sort of pattern seems to have been established with this A$$wipe...taking a cat and dropping if off quite a distance away?

Can you start searching in ever widening concentric circles or where this dickhead could possible hang out? Like where does he drive to? I would go down his pathways stopping every so often and bring a can opener to click loudly or 2 cans of cat food to band loudly together; a bag of dry cat food to shake (Iams bag has brought home my youngest roaming fur kid many, many times)...Gabby might just come running out of the woods and toward you.

Right on, jean!

end of t/j.......

dreamlife... Excellent idea! Pukeface doesn't go far from home. He's "disabled" and doesn't work, but drives back and forth all day and night. (Leaves, comes back 10 minutes later) His suped up red POS 3/4ton Dodge hemi with glasspacks is hard to miss around town.

I think following pukeface is a good idea. And looking for Gabby in other areas. She always came running to the sound of catfood!

We have posted signs all over the entire perimeter of the town with Gabby's photo and a $100 reward. But not one call yet. :(

You are right, a pattern is developing.

He acted REALLY nervous when we first started looking for Gabby. And acted like he was all caring and helping us look, but something didn't seem right about his nervousness. His concern only lasted one day, then the next day he started avoiding us. Now he runs when he sees my SO.

My SO is full-blooded Native American. He was born & raised in the White Mtns. He can hide, watch and cover a lot of ground in the dark without making a sound. Even Pukeface's 3 dogs don't even know that SO is in their back yard watching and listening.

And you don't want to piss off an Abenaki. Seriously. And my SO is beyond pissed off. I wouldn't want to be in Pukeface's shoes.

I'd also just be very quiet about this "search" so as not to alert Pukeface.

Is Gabby micro-chipped?

..dear Nouveau..

..just checking back to see if you've had any news on Gabby..

..i'm not sure if you said Gabby was male or female and was 'fixed'or not..??

..wondered if it was possible 'she' might be off somewhere with a litter, nursing away..??

..also possible someone else has found Gabby and is feeding her/him..and taking them inside??

..don't give up..cats have been known to leave for a while and then find their way back home..

..I'll be praying for Gabby to be OK and come back to you soon..

smy..have you checked your local animal shelter? ..if animal control services may have picked Gabby up??
