I just want to thank everyone for their prayers and good thoughts, as she continues to mend, and as I recognize how unfair life can be. (I'm clumsily trying to say, that I am so lucky that my cousin survived, and others are so unlucky that their loved ones have perished, in similar circumstances.

Wow, what an amazing woman.
12/18/15 found out my now EX boyfriend was trolling CL for underage girls. From the cops. The fun never stops.

So very glad your cousin is doing so well despite the terrible injuries she suffered... And I hope the legal system gives the woman driver as hefty a sentence as possible, what a horrible piece of work she is ...
It was very comforting for me to read:
Mattson’s memories of her time in the hospital are fragmented. “In the hospital, I remember people coming in to see me,” she said in the e-mail. “I was strapped down to the bed with a breathing tube down my throat (so I’m told). I just remember the positive love & well wishes from all my friends."
I've worried about what my D went thru & that is what I hope was her experience too that she could feel all the love from us so that it helped her overcome the anguish she was in. Please let your cousin know if you get the chance that her words helped a grieving mother cope a bit better since my D didn't survive her accident. I hoped my D felt more of the love surrounding her than the physical issues she was dealing with & your cousin's saying that was her experience makes me feel it realistically could happen that way since we have no way of knowing what my D experienced.
But in our case, it doesn't look like we'll ever know who started it, they just drove off. They never actually hit my D's car just caused her to have to veer over causing her to hydroplane & permanently lose control of the car.
How cool your cousin will be getting help with her medical bills!

I was very much thinking of you Unicornsearcher, when I posted this, and the unfairness of it all.
I'm glad you found some small measure of comfort, and can hopefully believe that your daughter was comforted and aware of your presence with her.
I will definitely pass along your words to my cousin. Peace and comfort to you.
