My IC suggested I read this book (by David D. Burns M.D)to learn and find ways to help my anxiety. Just wondering if anyone had read it and had any feedback on it.

I can't say enough good things about this workbook. It was recommended to me when it first came out and it has helped me as much as anything else I have done.

I used this a few years ago and found it somewhat helpful but didn't really get into it. I went to a different cognitive-behavior therapist - my favorite IC of all time - and she recommended Mind Over Mood instead of the FG handbook. Changed my life.

dreamlife,

Let me know what you think of it. I'm ...a few chapter in. I've been neglecting it this weekend but it's been good so far.

This book has been sitting on my shelf for well over a year and I decided to dust it off because of this thread.

The exercises are extensive, but I'm at the part where you diagnose your moods, identify the distorted thoughts and re-frame rational responses.

Worked pretty well when I went through a bout of anxiety earlier today.

She packed up her potential and all she had learned and headed out to change a few things.
