bluecali, I LOVE the Cake version of I Will Survive!

Let's not forget Alanis Morrissette and her entire Jagged Little Pill album. I actually can't listen to any of those songs, too triggery still.

Me - happy!

Thanks everyone! I've already put most of these in my play list.

I didn't like the Cake version of I Will Survive at first, but then it grew on me like a bad wart.

I loved Pink - Blow Me, but I have to be honest, as a guy, I truncated the lyrics on the chorus to suit me. e.g., just "Blow Me" period. If I could have, I would have inserted "Hey, stbxWW.... Blow Me!" in the lyrics. Sorry if that's tmi gals.

Also loved the two Godsmack tunes as I'm now getting into this alternative/heavy metal angry lyrics mode.

BTW, I found a few more that I really like, just in case anyone else is interested.

I Don't Care - Apocalyptica

Three Days Grace - Gone Forever

Let it Hurt - Rascal Flatts ( I know it's more about still being in a relationship, but it spoke to me. Besides, sometimes ya just gotta love the tender sweet vocals of Gary LeVox)

Rascal Flatts - Pieces (Great song about detaching & moving on)

Three Days Grace - It's All Over (Great song for anyone D'ing because of dealing with a spouse's substance abuse. Mine was a closet alcoholic for years)

Thanks again everyone!!

Oh, please do! I like the ones you already posted.

ETA:

I'm gonna write a song and I think I will call it: FTG

Know what I like most about this idea? It's non gender specific.

ETA #2:

I just listened to "Not Ready to Play Nice - Dixie Chicks"

WOW! I know it's a girl band and may speak more to the female side of this shit... but just fucking WOW! I so love that song and it just may move to the top of my list! Thanks ShellyBean for turning me on to this this.

BTW, here's a t/j on my own thread. (is that even allowed? ) NOTE: THIS.IS.NOT.A.POLITICAL.STATEMENT. Anyway, It's a GD shame the way the Dixie Chicks got F'd back in the George W days. Wonder how many people who slammed the shit out of them now see them in a different light?... just sayin... and no need for debate.

Shock - Love "The War Is Over"!! I'd just keep repeating that chorus to myself.... You don't deserve me, you don't deserve me...

My breakup playlist had a lot of ones already mentioned as well as:

Irreplaceable - Beyonce

Take a bow - Rihanna

Best days of your life - Kellie Pickler

Don't waste your time - Kelly Clarkson

Mr. Know it all - Kelly Clarkson

Resolution - Nick Lachey

Someone like you - Adele... But I liked to imagine my ex was the one singing it about me.

I always love these threads :)

This is an awesome post. I have trigger songs and I have songs that make me just go "Yeah that's right, f-her"

So some of the items on my list:

Foo Fighters - let it die

Staind - mudshovel

Whitesnake - fool for you loving (Maybe my favorite of all of them)

Slash - you're a lie (okay maybe this is my favorite)

Ironically the Slash song came out and got popular right before my Dday. Now I realize why she was uncomfortable with the song when I played it in the car.

Anyone ever heard

Ghost by FeFe Dobson

Now I'm gone in your photograph

I bet you wish you could get me back

Now I'm stuck in your memory

A mistaken identity

What's her name?

What's she like?

Does she know that you'll never treat her right?

What's her name?

What's she like?

Do you leave her in the middle of the night?

You act like you just saw a ghost

I watch you getting way too close

Now I know why you're never there

Now I know so it's my turn to disappear

You act like you just saw a ghost

I caught you (Caught you)

Now I know

Now I know why you're never there

Now it's my turn, watch me disappear

Just like a go-go-go-ghost

Watch me go-go-go-ghost

**Love, love, love this one.

The rest of the Lyrics are great too.

Check it out.

I have a new one and it is perfect and soooo appropriate. Check out:

"Perfect Life" by Red

Lyrics:

You pretend what you say you feel

You pretend that you're something special

All the lies that you hide behind

I see right through you, see right through you

Paint it on, cover every inch

Any flaw will expose your weakness

I'm immune to your fantasy

I won't become you, won't become you..

You want a perfect, PERFECT LIFE

Nothing wrong, nothing real inside

All I see is a perfect lie.

I don't want your perfect life [x2]

So, keep your dream with no consequence

You'd damage me just to feed your senses

All you fake for reality

I see right through you, see right through you

Take your pride, take your vanity

Can't you see that your ego's empty?

I will turn, I will walk away

I won't become you, won't become you..

You want a perfect, PERFECT LIFE

Nothing wrong, nothing real inside

All I see is a perfect lie

I don't want your perfect life [x3]

My eyes are wide open..

I see the enemy, the hypocrisy

Your cover is fading

Secrets pouring out, castles falling down

There's nothing to hide behind

I know who I am inside

I'm perfectly broken..

You want a perfect, PERFECT LIFE

Nothing wrong, nothing real inside

All I see is an empty lie

I don't want your PERFECT LIFE [x4]

The perfect life!
