Went to small claims court today over the 800 something dollar escrow refund check that X cashed without my signature.

To recap, I paid all the payments into the mortgage therefore all of the money in escrow came solely from my funds. Chase issued the check to the address that he changed it to, and while I was working with them, submitting documents to get it reissued into my name, he cashed it with only his signature. So I sued.

Get to court. He shows. Brings whore with him. Anyone have any idea why they hired a lawyer for 800 dollars? He seemed like one of those crooked lawyers too, offer half, I declined, said all he had av available was july 31st. I'm assuming I'm getting the run around. The judge kept asking him if that was all he had. He requested a 2 hour trial. Wtf is going on? I politely thanked the judge after she handed me my slip, and walked out, past the 2 of them who were staring and smiling. I just don't get the point of all this.

I just don't get it at all. I feel like they told him to stretch it out for months. Just because...who knows why! What is he really going to get? I've already talked to a judge and a lawyer who told me not to bother hiring a lawyer, and that I'm pretty set to win. Oh and a detective said the same.

So is he going to have to pay you back? I seem to remember this, didn't he send you a pic of himself holding the check?

We have to go to trial now. July 31st. Wtf? I mean am I crazy? No sane person would hire a lawyer for this. Ugh.

That's crazy to hire an attorney for small claims court. I didn't know that you can request a trial for small claims court either. He's stupid!

I think...therefore, I'm single.

It is what it is.

It feels like he's just throwing money away to screw me around.
