I've waited so long for this day to come! The final order was signed March 18th, there is a mandatory waiting period in case either of us changed our minds (as if) and it is final today! I waited up til midnight last night I felt like I was ringing in the new year.
I do feel a bit rudderless right now though. The last few years of my life have been building towards today. Now what? I'm totally free. I'm officially single for the first time since I was 15. I kind of want to hide in bed.

I'm glad you made it! The emotions can be very mixed...so bittersweet. I cried and drank a bottle of wine the day my decree came in the mail. Five months out...life is pretty goddamned good for me.
Be kind to yourself and embrace your new found freedom.

Don't hide in bed; do something fabulous! I went to Las Vegas with SI friends a week after my D was final.
I do know the rudderless feeling, but your new life will start to fill up. Before you know it, you won't recognize yourself!

Take a few deep breaths. The rest of your life is yours. That can be a bit overwhelming, but take the moment to feel what you are feeling. And when you're ready, start walking into the sunshine.

Thank you ladies,
I did have wine last night, it helped. I'm hosting a very intense card game tomorrow night in celebration of my new single status. I'm such a party animal.
I do love Las Vegas, I went last year with my little sister and we had an awesome time. It's like a spa for your self-esteem. Maybe I'll try and pencil that in next fall.
