Never had a problem with the peeing, but the pooping, well son would always cry when he had to wipe his butt, because he was so scared of getting it on his little hands and up his back. We had to wipe that boy til about 6 years old and finally had to tell him that he needed to do it and that it would not hurt him and to ALWAYS wash his hands because he was going into Kindegarten, so no one else was going to wipe his butt for him. Do you know that boy would hold his poop til he got home just so he had one of us there or his sister to make sure he got it all.
Poor child was afraid of poop.

I think I posted about this back then...
When ds was 3 or 4 I could smell urine in the laundry room and noticed some staining on the wall up by the ceiling. It was a brand new house so the stains really concerned me and I was sure there was a leak from the bathroom which was above the laundry room.
I called my inlaws because they are very handy with home improvements and they came with flashlights and tools and looked and looked.
They came to me after and said "You know everything looks good.. could ds be peeing somewhere?"
I was so put out!! The nerve!! He had been potty trained for almost 2 years and was such a good boy!! I got really snippy and said NO WAY. Hrmph.
You know where this is going.
The very next night we put him in our bed to watch a movie. I came up to check on him at some point and guess who's bare little butt I see as he is peeing in MY VENT
He turned around slowly and the first thing he said was "What are you going to do to me?" wide eyed with fear.
(FWIW.. nobody has so much as ever spanked the boy).
Long story short. He got in major trouble, we had to clean out the vent (which also happens to be over the laundry room!) and I had to apologize to my inlaws.
I torture him with the story to this day

Ahhhh.... boys.
FwL - My son would only do #2 at home, and it had to be in one specific bathroom. We called it "home base." He would hold it all day and run for the bathroom when he got off the bus. The reason? Well, he had to be stark naked to poop. Couldn't stand the idea that it might get on his clothes, so he would strip down to go. And then he would shower.
He's 19 now, and I am blissfully unaware of whether this is still a thing with him.

I asked him why he has to take off all his clothes, he says "Its more comfortable".
Same with WH... Appled in that aera don't fall far fromt the tree.... He still will not go at school unless everyone is out of the bathroom and very last stall. Or he will hold it. LOL.... He is 14...

DS 11 will wait until he gets home from school, strip all the way down to his underwear, then "take a dump". If he's home, and has a t-shirt on, he will take the t-shirt off before going. Come to find out, H's younger brother was one that needed to be naked when taking a dump. This is HILARIOUS!!!

Youngest DS had the wiping issue, too. When he was about 6 we told him he needed to learn to do it on his own. For the next few years his underwear was a freaking nightmare!

That is funny. However, girls are not fun either. Making sure they wash the HooHoo correctly is not fun. Or when they get the magic fairy each month. I mean really, wrap that shit up in a big wade of toliet paper and put in garbage, then if you get it on panties WASH them out don't just put in the laundry. I mean and REALLY make sure garbage is closed cause the DOG will shed it up and eat it. Nothing like walking into that shit after a long days work. And don't put them in your garbage in your room because you never take it out and wonder "Hey mom will you come in here. Do you smell that?"
So girls can be even worse at times. And don't yell at them when they have magic month because than you become the evil whitch and the drama mood starts!

My DS is coming up to 3yrs old and y'all are scaring me... I have NO idea how to toilet train a boy!!! Heck, my 4yr old dd is driving me batty!!! Pees on the potty at home but is refusing to at school
DS is great at telling me he's wet or "i peepee" and pointing to the bathroom, he just doesn't make it in time. He will sit, fully dressed, on the potty, proudly announce "I pee" then get up and look into the empty potty with a huge smile! Before bathes both kids have to sit and he blew me away when he pooped on the potty but I think that was just really good timing. He hasn't done it since.

When my son was learning to stand and pee and aim well I used to float a couple of Cheerios in the toliet and he had to "shoot them under"...
It was amazing how quickly his aim improved...he loved to "shoot them"....worth a try, portable when you go out and certainly cuts down on the clean up around the bathroom.....HUGS

Mainly for the men. Don't EVER teach a young boy how to pee on a tree while golfing or hunting.
Especially if you live near a church.
Just saying
Eta The problem is explaining it to the wife when he 'narcs' you out and says "but dad did it". Lol
