This is for a 1994 4runner 4x4. Presently has 235x75x15. Company I bought from online (and inside my trucks door) recommens 225x75x15. An irl person said the 225.'s were much smaller and not as good. If so, then why was that the recommended tire size listed on my truck door? Could someone pls educate me on the diff btw 225 and 235?

The difference in size isn't actually that huge. The 225s are 0.6" smaller in diameter and 0.39" narrower.
The bigger tire will probably look better. Both sizes are pretty small for going off road so that isn't much of a concern. The smaller tires will cost less, give you slightly better fuel economy and your speedometer will be accurate as that's what the vehicle was designed for.
