Today is DS13's birthday. I do not have him today. He will be having a party this week-end at my house with his friends. Movie and sleep-over. Last week-end we had a combined party with my family.
Well, I am stressing out that I don't have him today, that I won't see him on his birthday. EX just called to see what time DS10 gets out of school. He's taking the afternoon off to make today special for DS13.
You know what I get to use my vacation and sick time for? Orthodontist appts for both boys every 4-5 weeks, dentist appts, doctor appts...stuff the kids don't appreciate.
Last week alone, 2 orthodontist appts and 1 dentist appt cost me 5 hours of vacation time.
I just need to make it through the rest of the day and know that I get to see the kids tomorrow and that DS13 will have a great party with his friends Sat.

Yes. The kids birthdays and holidays suck. Both my kids are now grown, but I remember spending Thanksgiving and Christmas eve without my children or having to rush Christmas morning to get them to the x by noon. Same with birthday's. The kids never seemed to mind because they got two of everything. (((HUGS)))
