For the world to fall out from under me. We are almost 9-months past DDay. We are just over 1 month with a newborn. I still trigger, but it doesn't seem to consume my entire day now. My husband and I are able to identify friends with boundary issues and have dialogue about that. He consistently acts with appropriate boundaries. A week ago, he left to go out of town, but returned after only a couple of hours. His job had been postponed. I was able to listen to the voicemail that he received instructing him to turn around, it was legitimate as far as I can tell. We've been working on landscaping our yard, because he wants this 'to look and feel like home instead of just someplace we live'. (Both of us have rented most of our lives). We have even managed 2 completely kid-free dates in two weeks. And, as he is out of town tonight, he is choosing to room with another driver who is quite possibly the most obnoxious man on earth. But, he is a man of integrity who we have both known since we were children. A man who would not only tell me if my H was acting badly, he would probably beat my H senseless first. Nice to see him choose that over the MANY other drivers who would spend tonight at the bar.
