Sad - have you tried shiraz? They might fit the bill for you.

I have had good shiraz but zins seem to be my favorite these days. I tried the Italian version of Zinfandel, but it was...meh.

I'll try the Nero, inconnu...tomorrow!

7 Deadly Zins is good for the price. It's my fallback wine these days, but I'm always looking for something better.

The zins from St. Clair are excellent, but they only sell as far as El Paso. Nothing here in Houston.

Maybe wines need to be the next subject in the alphabet game?

I've moved on to a Hoegaarden witbier. It's a wheaty kind of night.

Any other beer drinkers, or is this strictly a wine bar?

Maybe it was a taste testing field trip.

Any way a full report would be awesome.

My favorite is a slightly sweet white from a winery that's just up the road, but it's a splurge at $25 a bottle!

I found Pandemonium california table red ... meh.

It's ok.. not much flavor.. I like my reds with spice.. this is missing something.

But the price was right..free... for that price it's good!

There are a lot of good California Zins in the $15ish range. But distribution is so hard to figure across the country. The Amador county Zins are great too, Karly, Cooper, etc., but I don't know how far their distribution is. I have a bottle of Caymus cab waiting for the right night.

Last night was a vodka tonic on the porch night. Mmm mmm.
