My family calls Discovery ID my "how-to shows." (And yes, they are great background noise for dull work.)

my "how-to shows."
Thats hilarious. I feel my husband is sometimes creeped out that I am so into these programs and wonders if I am making plans.

Here's a good tip- sit reading a book about poisons, preferably about someone who's poisoned their family then try and give them some cake- a mate's little sister did that- only time EVER in my life I've refused cake!!! haha I'm not even joking!!!

Yeah, towards the end of our marriage my ex was convinced I was out to get him because I watched 48 Hours.
by the way, I am on the same page when it comes to these shows capitalizing on the gore aspect. There is a new show on ID that focuses on crimes in cities, I watched on show and didn't particularly for it because it was too senseless

Before True Crime TV was real popular, I actually read a lot of true crime books. I was interested in forensics and the psychology of it all, but never pursued it educationally.
I still will watch a lot of True Crime TV and even crime drama stuff.
I cannot stomach anything harmful to children. I'm on the fence about death penalty, but 100% believe these sick fucks that mess with kids cannot be rehabilitated - so they should probably just be killed instantly.

I worked for awhile on federal level death penalty appeals. I'm glad I never became so numb that case details failed to shock me.
I'm not a real fan of court TV such as the Casey Anthony case but I will admit I'm looking forward to the Zimmerman trial in Florida.

the Zimmerman trial in Florida.
That is going to be something else, indeed.

Idiot85,
That's an excellent way to get the spouse and kids to take over the cooking in the household.

Yep!!! I always worry though in case there's ever a need for police to track my online or tv habits!

Her book on the Bundy case is the best, true accounting of his crimes.
Rule's The Stranger Beside Me. Loved that book.
She packed up her potential and all she had learned and headed out to change a few things.
