This post made me smile and realize that the "impossible" really is possible. You are a standard to grow by!! One question: How did you manage to keep her away for that long? Was it a mutual agreement between you and the ExH?

(Edited for iphone typos!).

Here it is the morning after!!!

I had a lovely day yesterday ... The church service was vibrant and touching.

Champagne and cake were served afterwards so I just marched up to OW stuck out my hand and Introduced myself as the "mother of x and y" (not their real names :)) )!

She shook my hand and off I marched to pick up my glass of champagne at the back of the church.

In the restaurant My family's end of the table was buzzing and full of laughter and chat. I looked at OW (in her early 20s) sitting with 4 great aunts/granny's and ex and his brothers (all 45 and over and miserable as hell looking folk) and thought "hmmm nice life glad it's yours not mine".

And then went back to chatting and laughing with my wonderful funny family.

At the end OW approached me and thanked me for "letting her come".

I said "you are not my guest you are exs guest.. He invites who he wants."

She replied "yes but thank you for

Not being mean to me". Tried not to snort with laughter... Am wondering what picture ex painted of me!!!! Probably some bat shit crazy wife... Who was "mean and did not understand him". LOL

I am a very smiley positive person... she seemed really confused to see how I really was!!!!!!

When enjoying the meal I took a minute to give thanks for my wonderful happy life.

Life does go on and mine is 1000 times Better than when I was married.

BTW I had not met OW as ex was determined to keep us apart and went to incredible and ridiculous lengths to do so LOL. I did offer to meet her prior to yesterday but he turned my offer down!!!!

I guess he knew his portrayal of me as a horrible meany would be blown out of the water!!!

YOU GO GIRL!!!! That had to be such a liberating feeling and soo freeing!!! It took a lot of guts to walk up to her and do that! I kind of wish that I had NOT known MOW beforehand so that I could have a moment like this... Good for you!!! Sounds like life has finally made full circle and they are getting their "just desserts"! Keep rockin on girlie!!

I think the least you can do is send her a "thank you" card.

Great update - but kind of sad really. (Not for you, but for her - the way she talked to you, it was like she's a child - who says "Thank you for not being mean to me?").

Yes, you are far better off.

Am tempted to thank her for liberating me from the prison that was my marriage... But I won't.

Not going to waste my breath on her.

Yes it is true her comments were weird and childlike... oh well!!!
