Ayup, Bg. This is why I had a really tough time using the term 'D-Day' to denote the day I learned I was a BH.
I lost no family on D-Day, but a cousin on an LST by chance moved 6' a few moments before a torpedo hit just where he had been standing, and the guy who replaced him died. So many other families lost loved ones on the beaches of Normandy and in the campaigns that preceded and followed the landings. I bet a lot of SIers have grandfathers who were part of the invasion.
It took me a long time to understand why so many of my teachers in grade school were called 'Miss'. Two world wars is why....
On a lighter note, W & I got our A.B. degrees on June 6, 1966 - yup - our degrees were in Latin, and we both could read 'em when we got 'em.

BG-
Thank you for recognizing today. I am sure most of us have heard stories, from family memebers, about that day.
Bless all who were there.

That's why I never call it D-day when I talk about myself. It's always d-day. It reminds me there are other, more devasting things in this world.
