We attend every home game. Love the Gamecocks.

And, I have to point out that the colors are GARNET and black.

Maurice's Piggie Park, in West Columbia, isn't too far and consistently good.

Garnet is a much better color than cardinal.

Really? You're gonna post that on this thread after the SC-Georgia game last year???

Jpapa, Garnet is MUCH better than cardinal.

A2LA, you have to try Hudson's. I think their sliced pork puts Maurice's to shame. And they have 3 or 4 choices for your sauce flavor.

This is me with former SC and Washington Redskins running back/Heisman Trophy winner George Rogers. He visited the nursing home where I work for our Valentines Day social.

I know...must be a glutton for punishment. I'm a Texas Tech grad myself (sticking with the red and black), but still haven't gotten over the UGA brainwashing I received as a child.

A2LA,

He was absolutely charming and went out of his way to make our residents feel special. He stayed over twice as long as he had committed to, took pictures with everyone who wanted, signed mini footballs and pictures. One of our residents (who has since passed away) was a HUGE Clemson fan and was decked out in orange head to toe. She had the best time joking with him and pretended she was going to steal his Super Bowl rings.

If you go to Shealys (it's in Batesburg-Leesville -- about 30 min ish from downtown Columbia), make sure to ask your ice tea girl to get you a pulley bone from the kitchen.

Omg. Fried chicken heaven. The pulley bone is all the breast meat around the wish bone. Yum.

Maurice's is good but if you can make the drive to Shealey's, that is a more authentic BBQ experience, IMHO. Their BBQ is wonderful and there are lots and lots of side dishes, veggies, etc.

My ex-husband was a Gamecock fanatic and I spent 9 years going to every home game and lots of away games.

If you decide to tailgate, Rush's has good fried chicken.

YES! I used to fight my brothers for the pulley bone piece! It's my favorite!
