Brought all the anger, humiliation, and self consciousness racing back in!! Plus the doc telling me to lose weight and I'd feel better didn't help!! Ya think!' But will it make me feel better than chocolate?!? Nooooooo!! Then he asked if I wanted to hurt myself!! Ummm..,..no but I want to hurt you and a few other people right now!! He just gave me a little nervous smile and giggle and a rx for Xanax and wellbutrin!! Wellbutrin to make me horny and Xanax to make me not be able to get there!! One foot in front of the other maybe I'll get somewhere some day!!

But will it make me feel better than chocolate?!?

Let me clarify the Wellbitrin wasn't to make me horny!! Lol!! It's for depression but some say it has that side effect!!

Well if it makes me horny and give me the hives!! I make just have to sip a Benadryl cocktail all day!! I haven't been eager for ....... For a while!!

I'm on Wellbutrin & it def doesn't have that side effect for me. It is awesome w/cutting back cig cravings, tho.

My XH took Wellbutrin. It made him gain weight and sweat excessively. Def did NOT make him horny.

I took Wellbutrin for years. It curbed my smoking urges though that wasn't why I was taking it and it cut my over the top sex drive to zero. >.<

Y'all are making me not wanna take it now!!

I took Welbutrin for months and it ended up only giving me severe tremors. Fun times.

Are y'all taking generic or name brand I've read the generic causes way more excessive side effects than generic

I dunno about wellbutrin, but I'm on Citalopram and the doc says she likes to try that out first because it fucks with your sex drive the least even if it affects it some. No pun intended.

We just had our tests too. Still waiting on the results. Did your WS get tested also? And as far as the testing go, did they also do blood work? HIV and syphilis can only be tested via blood draws.

It is humiliating and awful. I, too, felt like it was Dday all over again. That's natural. ((((wannarun)))))

My doc did a full blood panel testing for all kinds of stuff (CBC, vitamin levels, thyroid, iron, etc) before putting me on anything. Then he put me on prozac and vitamin d3. I've been taking those and a one-a-day energy vitamin and ginkgo biloba and I am finally feeling great. Good luck.

ETA: Oh, and as far as a calming agent (like when I can't sleep at night or a couple months ago when I'd be in total panic mode), simply taking either one dramamine or one benadryl did the trick. Just a tip for when the doc says no more xanax. I didn't want to go the xanax route because MrWNW did before and I saw how it worked great at first but he needed more and more of it to get the same effect over time. He eventually just took himself off the xanax. Dramamine or benadryl were safer, non-addictive alternatives according to my doc.

I took wellbutrin for a while (it was supposedly to prevent migraines) and it killed my sex drive, in the first few weeks it gave me vivid dreams all night that were kind of like hallucinations and reduced my appetite so I lost weight. It didn't help with my depression either. There are way better options for depression IMO.
