There is an upcoming conference to a beautiful place in our country this fall. The AP will be there.

The A began at one of these conferences until it self destructed two years later.

Our plan was to attend the conference. Like I said, it's BEAUTIFUL and they have great perks for the spouses and it will be fun for us to take a trip together. His company has not seen me since 2008!

I am NOT afraid of seeing the AP. I have nothing to be embarrassed about. I am not interested in provoking, etc.

My H is feeling anxious about this. At the worst, he is worried that there will be some confrontation (it would NOT be initiated by me) or perhaps something highly uncomfortable like, we get seated at the same table for dinner or someone is telling a story and says, "Hey AP, come on over here and listen to this!" and then we get introduced.

Have any of you experienced this? How well did you handle it? How did your spouse fare? There will be a couple hundred people there so...I really don't think we will be bumping into one another!

I've not experienced this at all, but I just wanted to say that you sound really healthy and confident, and I hope you two are able to go and have fun!

Thank you PPGA. That is exactly why I don't want to miss out on such a wonderful experience. My H can talk about this in therapy

Thanks for responding. Just got on SI now and was hoping for at least one!

Have a good day.

Tell your H to get his shit together, or you'll take PPGA with you instead. I've never been to Canada.

See....he was at a funeral the other day and head office needed to be present which means flying in to our province. Naturally (eye roll) she went as did another.

The usher led my H down the aisle and pointed to an empty spot. One seat away from her! He said if it was right beside her he would have left to "use the bathroom". He sat down next to the other head office person and prayed this guy would not make small talk for the three of them. That did not happen. He sais there was some arm crossing from her but never once did they make eye contact. After the ceremony, he made a quick exit.

Since then his anxiety about the fall trip has only increased.
