So....I told you all that there were 2 guys had been talking to on the OLD site! One didn't work out after more emails but the other one told me he would call me Friday night... and I was home cleaning and re-arranging my kitchen and cleaning it from top to bottom.....and it had gotten to be around 9pm and I thought he wasn't going to call.....and then BAM! The phone rings.... and at 1st I thought..... "its kinda late...." but...I figured I had nothing to lose! So, I answered it!

The 1st thing he did was apologize for calling so late and asked if it was still okay to talk! (thoughtful!) So, I of course said yes! Then, we talked...about tons of stuff....family and our kids... and he told me jokes...

So....he ended it telling me that him and his 6 year old son are going to the beach next week but that he would love to take me to dinner before he goes.....and we make a date for this evening!

He works as a scientist/engineer at a local university, has a PHD.... is a RUNNER , has a little boy (single dad), likes horror movies (I LOVE horror movies), and seems really sweet and has a good sense of humor! We seem to have a lot in common!

This will be only my 2nd date since leaving Piper's sperm donor over a year ago....

I'm nervous.... but excited!!!

Have fun. The first OLD date is the hardest. I was a wreck before my first one (needed a glass of wine for medicinal purposes prior to his arrival) First dates have become easier and less nerve wracking with time and experience and now they are just fine! I get excited about it, but not sooooo very excited about them.

If it works out that you want a second date Yippee! And, if it doesn't work that way, that is okay too. Don't forget to be the chooser and not the choosee!

Keep us posted!

(I have a first dinner date tonight with a new OLD guy too )

Well, crap. He called a few hours ago and cancelled. I understand though. He and his son are going to the beach tomorrow and normally he drops his son off on Sunday nights with his mom but he said it seemed kinda silly to drop him off overnight just to go pick him up again the next morning so he is keeping him. He said he would still like to take me out though when he gets back from the beach....

Bummer that he cancelled, but that is a pretty legit reason. See, only another parent would get that :)

Yeah....I'm totally okay with it... just a little disappointed! But, I suppose that's normal!

Seems odd to me. He knew about the beach plans before he made the date with you. While it was silly to drop his son off to his mom's for just a short time, he had made plans with you during that time. Oh well, nothing you can do about it!
