I love you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our dd has come to a phase where I shampoo her hair and she tucks her chin down and says no. I feel so awful doing it. I just want it gone. It seems to keep getting worse. Her pedi is old school and said just brush it. I told him I did and still there. He said keep brushing.

She still has her little soft spot so rubbing a little harder in those areas freak me out.

Thank you to each and every one of you for the advice. I'm going to try the oil first and see how it goes

I'll let you know!

The Little Remedies brand made one that worked like a CHARM for DD, and she had a ton of flaky waxy cradle cap when she was little.

It even smells really nice. White bottle, green label. I got mine at Walgreens.

Olive oil worked for a lot of my friends but not on DD's scalp so I was glad to find this stuff.

GL and keep us posted!

My son suffered with it too when he was little...my Dr said "he needs a popcorn treatment"......warm/melt butter rub it into the scalp followed by salt.....(the salt gently lifts the flakes off after the butter softens them) Shampoo the hair as usual afterwards...

Sounds wierd, but it worked!!!

I wonder if a "sugar scrub" or "salt scrub" body wash would do the same thing...one would think so.....HUGS

What are the ages of the kids you are all talking about?

DS is about to turn three. About three weeks ago I noticed a patch on the top of his head, flaky skin. Hadn't noticed it before. He always had a patch that was a bit red but nothing like this. Most Of it came off in the bath when we washed his hair. I stopped using shampoo every day on him because his skin is so sensitive that he would break out in a rash.

I thought maybe he had gotten sun burned but my mother said it was cradle cap. I just don't get it. All this time with just a red spot, then it suddenly got all flaky.

Castor Oil is good too. And a little Apple Cider vinegar, heavily diluted after you wash it out. Keeps it at bay for a while, and is helpful with adult psorisis as well.
