First off that a big THANK YOU for all the nice compliments and words of wisdom. It really helps me feel better about this particular situation.
It sounds like she was acting like this was a transaction, not a relationship.
Further update.....
Yeah, I don't thin the ice has any cracks. No word from her. I'm back to non-existence. That's fine. I'd rather it be this way than have to deal with someone who "disapproves" of me, for no good reason, all the time.
My SO is the only one that hears it from her.
Yes, spoiled brat.
Her boyfriend was very nice. When he arrived at the accident scene he consoled her for a few minutes then turned around and introduced himself to me including a handshake.
Her real father is the guy who picked them up from the Poconos. He traveled far and wide for her too. Yes, she has a few personal concierges!
Her father is involved in her life more like an uncle than a father. He did not want to be responsible for the two kids (first one not being his but they are close)after their mothers death other than monetarily. He is very generous ....but I find it all very weird.
It is something that I ignore because of that. And ignoring the issue may prove to bite me in the ass in the future, I know!
In fact, a few months ago when SO's car was in the shop, he gave him a ride to my house. I was in the doorway of my garage unloading groceries so they saw me when they pulled into the driveway. I went to put the groceries down, expecting to meet the father but he just dropped off SO and left. I thought that was very weird. SO does spend time with this guy....they go on trips to visit the daughter and sometimes shopping together. It's so freaking weird!!
Anyway, back to the cake....when he picked them up they offered him a piece of cake and I was just told by SO that he raved about it. So I got praise from him anyway.
My life.....can't call it your standard ordinary!!
