I am not super close, but close enough to smell smoke these last dew days. The radio rattles off long lists of fires burning and there are well over 5000 fire fighters working hard out there.

Join me in sending prayers for those affected and the fire crews, and all the wildlife.

The smell of smoke and the threat of more lightening strikes has an ominous feeling.

I'm plenty far away but the smoke is killing me. Can't open any windows or it stinks up the whole house. We are having a bit of rain now, hoping it can tamp some things down.

I've lived through this is my area many times. A fire came within 200 yards of our house 9 years ago. It is scary. I feel for everyone!

We're not terribly far from the Foresthill fire and generally go kayaking in that area a lot during the summer.

Its been smokey and hazy quite a bit near work. A lot of us have had itchy watery eyes (even those of us without allergies). I can only imagine how badly the folks that are in the area are feeling.

Oh my...I guess I haven't been watching the new much. My thoughts are with all who are affected by it and especially the firefighters trying their best.

Is it the one that started from a car fire?

Stay safe
