Ok, so I was just reading over a few threads and picked up a few things, the adult friend finder for one. I thought I wud go an have a look at what it was all about, and I typed in my husbands user name and the password that he had been caught with before, and altho it didn't log me in, it asked me to 'activate my account' so I clicked on 'is this the right email address' and said if I had entered the email address wrong, to click next link ... which I did and it gave me an email address I have never heard of before! A completely different one to which my husband had used before ... and said, current email ... change email. So I changed it to my email address and it came up and said ... congratulations u have now created an account!!! Problem is I cant activate it as there is no email from them to click on link yet. Does this mean I have myself created an account in my email address, but who's email address was this other one that came up. My heart is aching praying its not another one that my husband made up ... please help!!!

It sounds like you just created an account, but check again anyway. Do a search and look for a profile that sounds and/or looks like him. Good Luck.

I don't think I did, cos it never asked me any passwords or anything. Just said go to my email to activate the account, but it still hasn't sent the activation email yet. But who's email did it show me when I typed in his old user name and password :( it was his wasn't it?>????

First and foremost, keep checking your SPAM folder in case the activation email went there.

Secondly, if you don't get your email, perhaps you can go back to the site and 're-request' the activation email.

I'm not sure either whether you're reactivated one of your husband's old accounts or whether you just created a new one for yourself.

Once you get the activation email and are able to log into the account, it should be pretty easy to see if there's aready an existing profile that was written out by him back when he had the account, or if it's all blank and needs to be filled out from scratch.

As I'm not overly familiar with the site, I'm not sure if you've created a brand new acct or not.

Ok..I just tried doing the same thing..I entered WH's old email account,and tried a few passwords. It told me the username I was trying to use didn't match any of their records,so they wanted me to type in the email address and they would send me a new password..I did..then it said it was an invalid email address..it's not invalid..it exists..but clearly it doesn't exist in their database..so my WH wasn't on AFF(I knew this).

It never gave me the option to click another email address.

SO...since you were asked to actually activate your account..it sounds as if he either had an account there,and suspended or deleted it(but they still have a record of his email address,so when you attempted to log in, they assumed you wanted to reactivate the account.

It sounds like you have not only found his account..but you found his secret email account also..when AFF sends you the new link/password,go there immediately. Before your WH figures out what you have found..forward as much info as you can into an email account he doesn't have access too.

Ok, this is what happened.

1) I opened up adult friend finder

2) I typed in his name (ie Simon) and his old password (same one he used on yahoo chat)

3) (I didn't type in any email address or nothing)it asked me to activate account. I activated it with my email address, but ive had no activation email to activate it.

HOWEVER

Ive just typed in his user name again, and then any old password (I actually did a few times with different passwords I made up) and it saying the same thing (Activate ur account) and when I click on it, its giving the same email address ... Anthony.taylor234 @ wherever.com ... so it cant be my husbands as its giving his email address for every password I put in (even put in the password 'cheatingfecker2012) lol .... Phew!!!! My heart was in my mouth for a few hours there ...

The only name its asking me to 'activate the account' on is TONY ... so I typed in Tony and used various passwords and the same thing (email) is coming up with all those different passwords ...

Hhhmm. I tried my WH's username..the one he was using on craigslist,and in his secret email account,and tried a password,and it said it was an invalid username..so I tried the email address..same thing..invalid.

I didn't have any other email account address pop up at all.

Hopefully this is nothing..but it sounds off.

Maybe because Tony is a common name,so there are alot of Tony's? I used my WH username..not so common..and it took me to a page saying it was invalid.

This shit will make you feel crazy...you're not. Im so sorry you're dealing with this.

Its been 9 mths now since I found out he had been having cybersex with a woman online, And since then he has been truthful and honest with me, we been to counselling and are getting thru it ... I do believe him - he has been open and honest (sometimes too honest) about what happened, and since finding out we have adopted 2 children (we were in the process for 3 yrs it wasn't summit new we decided to do) and we are a happy family, I get my days but he always helps me thru them ... today was one of these days cos there summit in my head that cant stop me looking for this woman online. Problem is she has such a common name that there are 100's of her out there.... im just glad that Anthony Taylor isn't my husbands alias name lol ... but the poor man will either gets lots of emails saying someone tried hacking his account, or that he wont be able to get in cos ive changed his email address ... whoops!!!!
