I just had lunch with one of my/our friends. Well, her husband continues to be friends with him because he is a Christian and doesn't want to just drop him as he doesn't feel it is the right thing to do even though he says what he has done is nothing short of horrible and wrong. But, there is nothing like having a support system of friends who continue to love on you. We discussed my H's and OW's affair and how people can just walk out on their spouses for that short lived feeling of "euphoric love" (not that it is really love). We talked about how people who are emotionally retarded can't understand that it is lust and when that wears off and they are into a "normal" relationship of trust issues and fighting over all other issues that they will have...it is back to square one. I just couldn't think of the regrets these two are going to have in the long run. The OW's husband even said the other day "I wonder which one of them is going to regret it first and which one is going to regret it the most." The delusions that go through the minds of people who cheat are nothing less than scary to think about. I think about the pain that the BS goes through and that it might not compare to the pain they eventually go through when the realization of what they have done finally hits them and they realize what they have lost. Sad

Some regret it, some never do. My XWH#1 still blames me for the D. He will never get to the regret stage because he still can't believe I actually had the nerve to D his NPD ass.

I was talking to my best friend on the phone last night. BTW- what a great friend, she lives in a different time zone 3 hours later and talks to me every night for hours- very late for her and I lvoe her so much for it.
She said, "You know, the boogeyman is going to come for him. And it is going to be so much worse than anything you could ever do or say to him. He is going to wake up some day, and this big, huge snot is going to hit him in the face- it is called reality. And it is going to take him to his knees. He is never going to sleep well again. This boogeyman, the realization of what he did and what he lost and who he hurt, is not going to go easy on him. He is going to eat him alive."
So awesome. I feel like making an old school prank phone call and say to him in a scary voice..."the boogeyman is coming to get you...."

OMG Sleepless! So true! You made me smile, but it also made me sad to think of the pain he will eventually go through missing this family. But when reality hits, it will not be pretty.
