A little background. My youngest DD and my DH have never gotten along. I first met him when she was 2 almost 3yrs old. They have fought from day 1. I have always said they are to much alike. The other night he was going to pick up Chinese and took her with him. They had a long talk. She told him that she knows she has a father but DH has always been more of a Dad to her than her father has. She then looked at him and said "you're not going to cry are you?". He said yeah, I think I am. She has never said anything like this, in fact she has always said the opposite. He told her how sorry he was for what had happened with us and promised her that he would never do anything to hurt us again. She told him that she had forgiven him for what happened.
They have not fought once since then. He has started calling her kiddo and you can tell their talk has brought them closer together. When he asks her to do something now she does it whereas before she would have just ignored him and walked away.
It really warms my heart to see them bonding, finally! I was starting to worry that they would never get along.

Good one! Thanks for sharing.

My heart hurts for the children that suffer as a result of infidelity, they do not deserve any of the pain....ever. I am happy that your DD found peace with your H. I can only imagine the comfort this brings you.

The truth hurts, but I have never seen it cause the pain that lies do.

That is really cool.
I love that she asked if he'd cry...BUT was totally cool with it because 14 yo girls are just too cool and 'experienced' at life for that sort of thing.
But in all seriousness, it's endearing and I'm glad for you and your family!!
