Ok, I've been just looking at profiles out on an OLD site. Some of the profiles are green others are white. What does that mean? Thought it was an age thing,... nope, that isn't it. Can someone enlighten me?

I don't OLD, and I'm sure each site is probably different, but could it be an online status indicator? Like green meaning they are logged into the site at the same time you are?

broken2, what site are you on? Some sites have a "premium" status (site is free, but you can pay more and then can tell who has read your mail, highlight your profile etc.) Is this a possibility?

Better, I'm on Match. Haven't paid anything yet so not a member, but I do have a user names. I do not have a profile yet.
Now, no it's not an indication if that person is online right at that moment. That indication is actually spelled out, "online right now".

hmmmm, broken, I'm not sure what the green boxes mean on match...no premium memberships on that site...it is a mystery!

This is something I found on a google search when I was wondering the same thing.
"No, that just means they signed up for the platinum package. They will be displayed to new members first and they can see who read their emails. So they are obviously paid subscribers but if a profile isn't green it doesn't necessarily mean that they are not a subscriber."

I think they pay extra to highlight their profile so it stands out and catches attention. Usually means they've been on there a while

I've been "on there for awhile", too, I may have to consider this green highlighter thing? Nah.
