My XH did similar things for the entire divorce year and for 3 years after until he got a girlfriend earlier this year. They do it out of guilt and in my case cannot let go completely, even though he divorced me. Those actions made NC very difficult indeed. Inner Light hit the nail on the head "a giant mind----"
