I'm trying to host a quasi surprise party for my SO. He knows something is planned, but not the details. So I created the facebook event and left invites open to friends of friends as he has a lot of military friends I don't know. So now it is more visible than I intended. I put SO on my restricted list, will this keep him from seeing the event when his friends respond? Any other options?

When I did my suprise party, i made it invite only and them made a crap ton of people hosts so they could invite others that you are not friends with.

She never saw it and the party was pretty good.

Ok changed it to invite only, and people can still invite friends. Hopefully he hasn't seen anything yet.

Make a new page for a group and put the settings to secret. Anyone you invite can join and talk about it, but only the people who've been invited will see it.
