I haven't watched Supernatural on a regular basis. I take it you would recommend it?
My cable company doesn't carry a CW affiliate, but I could catch up on the previous seasons on Netflix.

I'm on the road this week, so I'll have to wait until the weekend to watch the premiere episode.

Brandon - I got hooked on it via NetFlix during a not so terrific period in my life. *Ahem*
It's a fun show. That may be hard to believe with themes like possession, vengeful spirits, angels and demons, hell, purgatory, etc., but the real heart of the show is the relationship between the brothers. It's worth your giving it a try. We won't be offended if you don't care for it.

DS 20 and DS 13 started watching it and they love it. I saw an episode the other day and kinda like it a bit too. But I've been told I have to start at the first episode of the first season and watch them all so I know what is going on.

Brandon- I would recommend them, for sure. I got hooked on them awhile back. I have chosen not to watch them on TV because I wasn't caught up on what was going on (I began watching when season 7 (?) was still running on TV so I had a lot of catching up to do). Instead, I bought the dvd sets and watched them one at a time. I'm FINALLY caught up and am in a good spot to be able to watch on TV.
SPOILER ALERT:
The plotline follows 2 brothers continuing the "family business" of hunting and usually destroying all things supernatural after the death of their mom. This show has drama, humor and heart. There ARE some silly ones- "Ghostfacers"? among others, for example. I think one of my favorite things about the series is 1)the loyalty between the 2 brothers 2)Bobby Singer as a sorta adoptive father and 3)Castiel's social awkwardness.
NIK- my lips are sealed. But you need to hurry up and watch so we can discuss!
ga- I agree. The shows do a good job of sorta summarizing what's going on before each new episode (at least on the dvds they do) but it's just not the same unless you watch them from the beginning.

Just FYI: Season 8- infidelity trigger alert. It resolves fairly quickly but it's there.

Thanks for the head's up abby. I was looking for it to air on Wednesdays like last season.
I got hooked on it through Netflix too. I missed a couple episodes last season but not enough to throw me off the story. I'll probably pick them up when Netflix has season 7.

Now my two favorite shows will be airing - Supernatural and Haven (on Syfy). *That's* an intetesting show right there. I watched most of the first two seasons on broadcast then we got rid of cable for a while. Got it back a few months ago and finally caught up with it on Netflix and On Demand. Now I just have to wait (until next *June*) for Warehouse 13.
ETA: NIK I might have to wait to catch those missed episodes. I tend to binge on series and my H gets bored after 2 or 3 episodes. Fortunately I get up well before he does on the weekends.

abby, I think Haven is a very good show. It's (very loosely) based on The Colorado Kid by Stephen King. Haven is also the name of the town where The Tommyknockers takes place.
The basic premise of the show is, every 27 years, Haven experiences The Troubles. The Troubles consist of some (not all) residents being able to do... unusual things. A Trouble is passed down from parent to child usually.
Also, every 27 years, someone comes to Haven who is immune to the Troubles and can help those with them. This go 'round, it's an FBI agent from Boston.
I highly recommend you check it out. First 3 seasons are on Netflix. Season 4 just satrted about a month ago. If you have TWC On Demand you may be able to get current or you could try Syfy's website or perhaps Hulu. They usually have the last five episodes of a currently running series.
