If the airfare to Georgia is expensive I'm sure South America is out of the question. Unless I get money off for riding a llama for part of the trip.

When you're fat and have big curly hair (painting and awesome picture of myself, huh?) the beach just isn't comfortable. But I did go to Jamaica once for my brother's wedding and I loved it. That was pre kids too so no worry about all the crap I had to pack.

How about the Virgin Islands? St. Thomas is BEAUTIFUL, as is St. Croix. My brother lives in St. Croix and he LOVES it, although it can get really, REALLY expensive.

Some carriers are offering winter fare sales - I know AirTran is for sure (just scored a really cheap trip to Vegas for my H's birthday). Maybe that's worth checking out?

How about Tucson?

For history, you've got some old missions and settlements; dry, warm weather; airfare used to be cheap to AZ; the high-end state University is there; the Sonora Desert museum is wonderful (there's a visitor center and the whole desert); the hills between Tucson and Mexico are just incredible - they look like ocean waves to me, except they have these huge cacti growing on them.

I actually used to live in Tucson when I was little. I don't know how half Chinese half white makes me look Mexican, but I'd be worried about being deported.

I'm starting to think I like the Savannah idea. Just need to find a good airfare deal.

Charleston, SC is gorgeous. It's laid back and full of history. Outer Banks, NC is another great location. Not many people, relaxing, and horses are always a plus.

Undefinabl3 - I'm open to anything but I do prefer woods over the beach. Historical over nightclubs. I do like adventure and I do like being pampered in a spa. I'm not looking to go to bars and get drunk. But food is always good. WH and I went to Alaska on our honeymoon. I LOVED IT!! I can't wait to go back at some point in my life.

There is only one place that i could suggest of the top of my head.

Gatlinburg, TN

You can either rent a cabin in the moutains with some of the most wonderful views i have ever seen, or get a nice hotel room down on the strip. Either way you will find just breathtaking views.

You can shop, go to a comedy show, head over to the Ripley's Museam and movie theater.

You can play Hillbilly golf, head over to Dollywood, The Elvis Museam, or WonderWorks.

I could go on and on about the food, but you absolutely MUST go to the Dixie Stampede. Where you eat with your fingers and watch alive show with horses and tricks and stuff. its fantastic.

Also, you have adventure. White water rafting, rope and zip line courses, horse back trail rides, and a haunted mansion.

And the place is history, you can't really go very far without running into history.

The national park has tours you can look into.

one stop shop for sure.
